Why Work at a Christian Summer Camp
Longview Ranch hires summer camp counselors and support staff each year for our Christian overnight camp in East Tennessee. Every summer, we build a team of believers who give four weeks of their lives to care for kids, live out the gospel, and be part of something that matters. This is demanding, meaningful, residential ministry work - and it might be the best summer of your life.
Season Dates: June 22 - July 18, 2026
Location: Longview Ranch, Greene County, East Tennessee
Commitment: Full-time, on-site, residential (you live at camp)
Minimum Age: 18
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Camp is full-on, but you're not running on empty. A typical week runs Monday afternoon through Saturday morning. You'll have a packed schedule with your campers, but Leadership builds in a daily rest time and scheduled time off so you can recharge. Here's what the week generally looks like:
Daily Rhythm:
-
Morning cabin cleanup and inspection
-
Morning Assembly - worship and teaching from God's Word
-
Activity rotations (Swim Hole, Horses, Riflery/Archery/Tomahawk Toss, Paintball, Woodshop, Crafts, Waterslide, River Tubing)
-
Rest time and free time
-
Evening Assembly - high-energy, fun, community-building
-
Evening programs (Cookout, Olympics, Guys/Girls Night, S'mores, Bible Adventure)
-
Devotions and lights out with your cabin
You'll supervise campers around the clock, lead morning and evening devotions, facilitate activities, interact with parents at check-in and check-out, and help keep camp clean and running.
STAFF ROLES

Counselor
You live in a cabin with a group of campers (no more than 12) and are responsible for their spiritual, physical, and relational well-being for the week. You lead daily activities, build one-on-one relationships with each camper, handle behavior and discipline, and set the tone for your cabin. Counselors are the heart to camp.

Support Staff
You assist counselors in the cabins and are responsible for setting up and running camp activities and programs. You may have a primary focus area (photography, videography, horses) but will engage across camp and remain actively involved with campers throughout the week.

Leadership
Leadership team members work closely with the Camp Director to oversee the staff, manage the overall program, and handle administrative responsibilities. Leadership roles are typically filled by returning staff with demonstrated competency.
