Long View Ranch is a non-denominational Christian camp and retreat center, directed by George and Kay Widmaier. LVR is named for the incredible view of the west side of the
Smoky Mountains and for the eternal perspective of the life that is for all who place their faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
Our activities are designed to provide a awesome, safe program that earns us the opportunity to challenge kids and adults with Biblical truths. Several of the activities are designed to provide situations where choices are made and the results of those decisions will be discussed at the conclusion of the event or day. Biblical applications come to life from the evaluations of the day’s enjoyable events.
The mission of LVR is to impact lives- not just for the day or week of camp, but for the 'long view' of eternity.
Beautiful open fields surrounded by deep rich forest. The woods provide a wonderful playground for trail rides, our team-building challenge course, orienteering, paintball, and more. There are several trickling streams and an Old Fashioned Swimmin' Hole located on our 130-acre property that sits next to the Nolichucky River. LVR is also home to 19 beautiful horses (and 1 donkey named Dora) who love people and attention.
